The record light on my DVR isn't working

DVR Record Light Bug (DCH3416 and DCH6416 models)

Midcontinent has recently become aware that firmware loaded onto the Motorola DCH3416 and DCH6416 DVR models contains an error. The error causes the red recording light to remain off during a recording.
 

To verify your program is being recorded, you may use any of the following options:
 

  1. Click the “swap” button on your remote which will toggle between tuners. The tuner that is recording should have the word Rec in the LED display on the front of the set-top.
  2. If you attempt to change the channel of the tuner that is currently recording, a message should appear that says “Your recording is in progress”.
  3. Push the “List” button on your remote which will show all of your recorded programs. Verify that the recordings are set to view by date. If a recording is in progress it will appear at the top of the list.
  4. Push the guide button during a recording to make sure the red dot appears next to the program title within the guide.
