Sioux Falls SD April 12, 2012--- At the recent meeting of the Midcontinent Media Foundation, the Board of Directors approved $66,853 in grants to regional non-profit organizations.
The Midcontinent Media Foundation is the charitable arm of the Midcontinent family of companies. For 25 years, the Foundation has provided support for 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations in the communities served by Midcontinent Media, Inc. and its affiliates.
To date, the Foundation’s grants total over $3,000,000 and have been distributed to organizations for over 1500 community projects. Each organization must submit a detailed application requesting funding for a particular project or program. These applications are carefully reviewed by board members who represent all regions in Midcontinent’s footprint.
“We are pleased to continue our support of important projects in communities large and small,” said Senior Vice President of Public Policy Tom Simmons. “Our Regional General Managers work closely with Foundation board members to review applications in order to make the best decisions. We also seek applications from local organizations that are close to our employees’ hearts. That’s important to them and to us as an employer.”
The Foundation reviews all grants in March and September of each year. The next deadline for applications is July 10, 2012. Non-profit community organizations that qualify may use the online application.
